TL;DR
Indirect Tax Team Lead (LATAM): Managing indirect tax compliance, advisory, controls, and process optimization across multiple LATAM jurisdictions with an accent on VAT, GST, Sales Tax, tax risk, and regional stakeholder partnering. Focus on leading tax professionals, optimizing and automating processes, strengthening controls, and managing audits with tax authorities.

Location: Bogotá, Colombia; hybrid working with up to 50% remote work

What you will do

  • Oversee VAT, Sales Tax, GST, and other indirect tax filings across multiple LATAM jurisdictions.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and coordinate a team of indirect tax professionals.
  • Advise Finance, Procurement, Commercial, and other stakeholders on indirect tax matters.
  • Identify tax risks and opportunities and support strategic business initiatives and transactions.
  • Optimize and automate tax processes, strengthen internal controls, and collaborate on ERP enhancements.
  • Manage tax audits, communications with tax authorities, documentation, and risk mitigation plans.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in indirect tax, VAT, GST, Sales Tax, or related tax functions.
  • Strong accounting and indirect tax knowledge, including LATAM tax regulations; experience in Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, or Argentina is preferred.
  • Previous leadership, supervision, or team coordination experience.
  • Experience with tax technologies and ERP systems, preferably SAP and/or Workday.
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing, tax controls, risk assessment, and compliance reporting.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken; a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field.
