Engineering Manager

Location: Paris, France; hybrid work with a few days at home.

Salary: €67,000–€75,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead a squad of software engineers and own delivery, quality, and team health.
• Partner with a Product Manager and Designer to define realistic roadmaps, scope, priorities, and trade-offs.
• Provide technical leadership by reviewing code, challenging architecture, and maintaining engineering standards without being the primary coder.
• Champion testing, TDD, CI/CD, observability, clean releases, KPI tracking, incident response, and post-mortems.
• Recruit, onboard, coach, develop, and retain engineers through effective one-to-ones, feedback, and mentoring.
• Drive cross-team improvements and pragmatic adoption of AI and developer-productivity tools.

Requirements

• 7–12 years of total experience, including 2–5 years managing software engineers in product environments.
• Strong technical credibility, including the ability to read code and challenge design and architecture without being the main coder.
• Experience with delivery leadership, Product and Design collaboration, risk and incident management, and stakeholder communication.
• Experience with testing/TDD, CI/CD, observability, disciplined releases, and operational metrics.
• Coaching and people-management skills, including expectations, one-to-ones, feedback, performance management, and career growth.
• Comfortable communicating in French and English.

Hiring process
