Senior Python & Databricks Developer

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia; office presence required at least 3 times per week

What you will do

• Design, build and deploy Python-based data products, services and applications.
• Develop Databricks ETL pipelines for risk, exposure and modelling data.
• Translate complex business rules and calculation logic into tested, maintainable code.
• Build APIs and integration services for real-time, near-real-time and batch use cases.
• Design and optimize data models, Delta tables and Lakehouse workflows.
• Improve performance, scalability, reliability and cost efficiency while implementing monitoring, alerting and automated testing.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience developing production-grade Python solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, ETL or ELT pipelines, Apache Spark, Delta Lake and Lakehouse architecture.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with structured data.
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps and software development best practices.
• Ability to analyze complex or unclear requirements independently and deliver reliable, maintainable solutions.
• Excellent written and spoken English; regular office presence in Bratislava is required.

Nice to have

• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with Pandas, NumPy or geospatial libraries.
• Experience with Azure Storage, Azure Functions or Azure API Management.
• Knowledge of Databricks Workflows, MLflow, Model Serving, Feature Serving, data-quality frameworks or observability.
• Background in catastrophe modelling, exposure management, insurance or financial services.
