Senior Legal Counsel - Music (Gaming)

Location: Office-based in Paris, France. The office is located in Saint Mandé.

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate music licensing, commissioning, distribution, and synchronization agreements in French and English.
• Provide practical legal advice to game production teams on music-related content and contractual issues.
• Train creative teams and collaborate with legal counsels to develop practical legal tools and guidance.
• Monitor legal and business developments affecting the music and video game industries.
• Improve standard agreements and legal processes while ensuring alignment with business needs, policies, and risk tolerance.
• Work with external counsel on sensitive pre-litigation matters.

Requirements

• Significant experience in music law, particularly in publishing and/or recorded music, ideally gained in-house.
• Experience drafting and negotiating music contracts under various legal systems, including synchronization licences.
• Experience working with collective management bodies and managing multiple projects in an international, multicultural environment.
• Bilingual French and English, with equal confidence drafting and negotiating in both languages.
• Strong communication, negotiation, judgment, interpersonal, and consensus-building skills.
