Software Engineer III (Backend C#)

Location: Remote within the United States, excluding California. Occasional travel of 5% may be required, and onsite interviews or in-person onboarding may be required for identity verification.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using C#/.NET.
• Build event-driven applications with AWS services including EventBridge, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, and ECS.
• Design high-volume batch processing systems for large-scale payment workloads.
• Integrate secure payment solutions with banking networks, payment gateways, and third-party providers.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, modernization initiatives, engineering standards, code reviews, and mentoring.
• Provide production support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, documentation, testing, and on-call support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• At least 4 years of software development experience, including 2+ years with C#/.NET and backend services.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, and large-scale batch applications.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EventBridge, Lambda, SQS, SNS, ECS, and CloudWatch.
• Experience integrating payment processors, banking systems, ACH networks, or payment gateways.
• Experience with MySQL and SQL Server, including schema design, query optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Orleans, virtual actor systems, and microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with Terraform, infrastructure as code, and cloud automation.
• Experience with observability platforms such as CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Background in regulated financial services, CI/CD, secure software development, or high-availability operations.
