Product Manager, Software Factory (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid for candidates within commuting distance of offices in San Francisco, New York, London, or Berlin, with in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Candidates located beyond the commuting distance can work fully remotely.

Salary: $208,000–$312,000 annual base pay in San Francisco. Compensation may be adjusted based on employee location and may include equity, benefits, and bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Software Factory.
• Define workflows for issue classification, analysis, implementation, review, and human handoff.
• Set the trust and quality bar through evaluations, verification, retry behavior, and approval controls.
• Define integrations with GitHub, Linear, Codex, Claude Code, and dedicated agent interfaces.
• Shape the memory and context model for accumulating repository knowledge.
• Work with design partners and Enterprise customers adopting Software Factory for their codebases.

Requirements

• Experience building developer tooling products, ideally in CI/CD, code review, developer productivity, or AI coding tools.
• Hands-on experience with coding agents and a clear perspective on their strengths and limitations.
• Technical depth in agent orchestration, evaluations, context management, and sandboxed execution.
• Experience owning a platform area adopted by other product teams and setting technical direction.
• Experience defining acceptance standards and measuring quality for probabilistic product outputs.
• Experience working with design partners or Enterprise customers on new engineering workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-agent systems or agent orchestrators.
• Experience with evaluations or systematic measurement of AI output quality.
• Experience with bottom-up developer adoption and subsequent team expansion.
• Experience running or operating a large open-source project.
