Entry-Level Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Environmental Engineer (Environmental Consulting)

Location: Somerset, New Jersey, United States; on-site. Field work, occasional travel, overtime, and weekend work may be required.

What you will do

• Support soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion investigations, sampling, site inspections, drilling activities, and environmental construction monitoring.
• Collect, document, organize, and review field and laboratory data for environmental investigations and technical reports.
• Assist with Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, Preliminary Assessments, Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, and Remedial Action activities.
• Prepare tables, figures, data summaries, technical reports, and NJDEP submission materials.
• Conduct historical and regulatory site research using environmental databases, regulatory records, maps, aerial photographs, and other site information.
• Support project managers with proposals, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, task management, client communication, and project records.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in environmental consulting, environmental construction, environmental science, geology, environmental engineering, or a related field; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary consulting team, perform outdoor field work in varying weather conditions, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license required. Familiarity with NJDEP regulations and current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification are preferred but not required.
