TL;DR
Senior Data Scientist (AI): Designing and deploying scalable machine learning and digital solutions for industrial customer use cases in oil and gas, energy, utilities, and manufacturing with an accent on Python, SQL, data analysis, and Cognite Data Fusion. Focus on applying GenAI, building physical and machine learning models, and collaborating with data engineers, solution architects, and project managers to operationalize customer-facing solutions.

What you will do
- Design and develop scalable solutions for industrial customer use cases using ’s core capabilities.
- Lead use-case generation workshops with subject matter experts and map business problems to available data.
- Perform data cleansing, exploratory data analysis, and implementation of physical and machine learning models in Python.
- Deploy models to the model hosting environment and apply GenAI techniques to improve data-driven decision-making.
- Develop web applications on Data Fusion with AI agents and contribute to solution templates and best practices.
- Collaborate with data engineers, project managers, solution architects, customers, and partners on project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative field or mechanical, systems, electrical, or industrial engineering.
- 6+ years of full-time experience as a data scientist, preferably in a related industry.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience in machine learning, statistics, and/or optimization.
- Experience with Git and customer-facing work with external customers.
- Ability to work independently, coach and mentor colleagues, and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
- Experience with managed cloud services such as GCP, Azure, or AWS is a plus.
Nice to have
- Production experience with Python.
- Domain knowledge of the oil and gas industry, especially asset performance management and production optimization.
