Security Lead (AI)

Location: Remote from Mexico, Peru, Colombia, or Uruguay; listed cities include Mexico City and Bogotá.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 USD annually

hirify.global operates an on-demand marketplace for lawn care and outdoor services and is expanding into a broader home-services platform across three brands.

What you will do

• Lead security across the PHP/Laravel and TypeScript/React application, AWS infrastructure, payment flows, customer data, and compliance posture.
• Build application-security controls, including threat modeling, secure SDLC practices, code and design reviews, SAST, secret scanning, dependency scanning, and vulnerability management.
• Strengthen AWS, IAM, network, encryption, secrets-management, and EKS/Kubernetes security in partnership with Cloud & DevOps.
• Map PCI scope, drive SOC 2 and LGPD readiness, manage vendor risk, and support customer and auditor security questionnaires.
• Improve detection and response using Datadog, Sentry, and AWS signals; create and rehearse incident runbooks.
• Establish the roadmap, standards, playbooks, and hiring foundation for a small security team planned within approximately 12–18 months.

Requirements

• Hands-on expertise across at least three of application security, cloud security, compliance, and incident response.
• Experience building and operating technical security controls rather than working only with policies or audits.
• Practical AWS security experience, including IAM, networking, encryption, secrets management, and infrastructure guardrails.
• Ability to secure payment and marketplace systems handling customer and professional data.
• Ability to use AI tools in security work and design controls for AI-agent-authored code.
• Strong risk prioritization, collaboration, and technical leadership skills, with interest in growing a security function and team.
