Operator - Townsville Terminal

Location: Townsville, Australia; onsite terminal operations. The role requires full working rights for employment in Australia and flexibility for day, night, weekend, public holiday, on-call, and shift work. Travel to and support for other hirify.global sites outside Townsville may be required.

What you will do

• Manage fuel receipts from ships into the terminal and support ship bunkering by pipeline or truck.
• Operate and monitor tanks, pipelines, pumps, truck loading equipment, instrumentation, and PLC control systems.
• Inspect site equipment and perform routine fuel quality control checks and testing.
• Support truck drivers with inductions, load scheduling, loading gantry operations, and problem solving.
• Complete stock records, issue safe work permits, and participate in safety meetings, training, and emergency response drills.
• Build operational competence through structured on-the-job training, typically reaching full competence after approximately two years.

Requirements

• Full working rights in Australia and eligibility to hold a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) after passing an AFP check.
• Flexibility for day, night, weekend, public holiday, on-call, and shift work, including in a bitumen processing environment.
• Current driver’s licence and ability to obtain a forklift licence; training is provided.
• Strong communication, problem-solving ability, reliability, and commitment to learning.
• Strong commitment to HSSE and the ability to complete a mechanical aptitude assessment.
• Pre-employment medical and health assessment, followed by ongoing random medical, drug, and alcohol testing, are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in process operations, trades, nursing, healthcare, laboratory work, or another technically oriented field.
