AI/ML Battery Manufacturing Technologist (AI/ML)

Location: Glendale Junction, Kentucky, United States; hybrid work with a requirement to be onsite four or more days per week.

Salary: $132,800–$250,800 per year.

What you will do

• Drive continuous improvement in yield, scrap, quality, and manufacturing throughput.
• Identify plant-floor losses such as scrap, downtime, and quality escapes, then prioritize them for AI and analytics initiatives.
• Build and deploy models for coating and formation quality, defect detection, and yield root-cause analysis.
• Translate model outputs into parameter changes, error-proofing, and standard work with process, controls, and quality teams.
• Share findings and reusable assets with the central technologist so they can benefit both plants.
• Own local data connections across MES, historians, PLC and OT systems, and inline metrology.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Coursework or hands-on experience in machine learning, data science, or analytics.
• Plant-floor experience and process or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Comfortable using Python and working with plant data, including MES, historians such as PI or Ignition, and PLC data.
• Ability to work closely with operators, technicians, and process engineers.
• Must be able to work onsite in Glendale Junction, Kentucky four or more days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with battery manufacturing, semiconductors, coatings, or another high-volume process.
