Salesforce MuleSoft Architect (MuleSoft)

Location: Tysons, Virginia, United States; Workplace: Hybrid. The role supports a Department of Defense program and requires a US citizen with secret clearance who can meet applicable Moderate Risk, Non-Critical Sensitive/IT-II security requirements.

Salary: $175,000–$220,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and technical design of MuleSoft APIs, proxy APIs, integrations, and microservices for the DLA API Gateway environment.
• Design and sustain full APIs and proxy APIs connecting government systems, external services, applications, databases, SaaS platforms, legacy systems, and trading partners.
• Define reusable API-led connectivity patterns, standards, templates, security controls, error handling, logging, monitoring, and performance practices.
• Lead solution reviews and technical checkpoints across requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
• Develop API and microservices factories with reusable templates, automated pipelines, CI/CD processes, security scanning, and release controls.
• Provide troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, platform upgrade support, technical documentation, and mentorship for MuleSoft developers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant integration or API architecture experience with substantial hands-on MuleSoft Anypoint Platform experience.
• Experience with API-led connectivity, Mule runtime, API Manager, Runtime Manager, Anypoint Exchange, DataWeave, REST/SOAP integrations, microservices, CI/CD, and enterprise integration architecture.
• US citizenship and secret clearance are required, with the ability to meet applicable DoD security requirements.
• MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 certification; Certified MuleSoft Associate certification is required or must be obtained within six months of onboarding.
• MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect – Level 1 and MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect – Level 1 are strongly preferred.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate and a relevant nationally recognized technical certification are applicable where relevant.
