Senior Director, Technical Solutions - Quantum

Location: US Remote; hybrid workplace, with the role listed across the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and Singapore

Salary: $240,000–$310,000 annually, including the bonus target

What you will do

• Lead and develop the Solutions Architecture and Technical Sales Solutions Specialist teams.
• Define the vision, operating model, priorities, standards, governance, and methodologies for the Technical Solutions function.
• Partner with Commercial leadership on pipeline growth, account strategy, opportunity qualification, proposals, solution designs, and technical demonstrations.
• Oversee the portfolio of customer opportunities, projects, resource planning, delivery risks, technical quality, and customer outcomes.
• Advise strategic customers and partners on quantum use cases, collaborative projects, and technically credible business solutions.
• Build partnerships with Product, Engineering, Scientific, Research, and Commercial teams and influence product and research priorities through customer insight.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Quantum Computing, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 12 years of experience in industrial research, technical solutions, solution architecture, solutions engineering, applied research, or related technical leadership roles in finance or pharmaceuticals.
• Significant experience leading customer-facing technical teams and managing managers and specialists across multiple disciplines.
• Experience managing complex customer engagements, technical programs, or applied research initiatives.
• Strong commercial judgment, communication, influencing, stakeholder management, and ability to translate technical capabilities into customer value.
• Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.

Nice to have

• PhD in a relevant STEM discipline.
• Expertise in quantum computing, optimization, AI, or other emerging technologies.
• Industry experience in financial services, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and materials, manufacturing, government, defence, or related fields.
• Experience scaling technical organizations and developing senior technical leaders.
• Established networks across industry, research institutions, or technical communities.
