Technical Packet Switched Designer (Mobile Core & IP)

Location: Madrid, Spain; hybrid work model with up to 20 days per year of fully remote work from other locations.

What you will do

• Review and challenge high-level designs for mobile packet core and IP networks and convert them into low-level implementation designs.
• Create detailed design documentation covering configuration matrices, security implications, implementation guidelines, and methods of procedure.
• Develop the mobile core network strategy and roadmap for IoT evolution over the next 3–5 years.
• Manage network capacity and support solution design, first-node integration, testing, and production readiness.
• Lead virtual technology teams and coordinate business, technology, and operator stakeholders.
• Analyze network problems, troubleshoot faults and root causes, and provide timely updates to management.

Requirements

• More than 5 years of experience with 2G/3G/4G/LTE mobile packet core nodes at a network operator or equipment vendor.
• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting SGSN/CSGN, MME, GGSN/PGW, and NB-IoT platforms.
• Strong knowledge of mobile packet core routing, IP networking, MPLS, BGP, firewalls, load balancers, and telecommunications environments.
• Good understanding of 5G, cloud, NFV infrastructure, OSS/BSS tools, call protocols, call flows, and 3GPP interfaces.
• Experience creating network design documentation and MOPs, troubleshooting packet-switched platforms, and scripting with Python or Perl on Linux.
• Telecommunications, electrical/electronic engineering, or similar university degree; industry certifications such as CCNA, CCIE, or JCNIE are expected.
