Mechanical Engineering Manager - Stellar Energy (HVAC)

Location: On-site five days per week in Jacksonville, FL or Fort Worth, TX; not approved for telecommuting or remote work. Regular fabrication-shop visits and approximately 20% travel are required.

Salary: $142,500–$198,555 annual base salary, plus incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead mechanical engineers and mechanical design engineers while maintaining accountability for engineering quality and accuracy.
• Design modular chiller plants, including specifications, mechanical calculations, equipment selection, P&IDs, data sheets, technical specifications, and study reports.
• Coordinate engineering activities with other disciplines, clients, vendors, fabrication, procurement, installation, and construction teams.
• Prepare manufacturing and testing procedures, reports, control documents, and project deliverables.
• Provide technical support for sales proposals, vendor clarifications, bid evaluations, subcontractor assessments, and scope definition.
• Provide factory or site supervision and technical support for products in production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• At least five years of experience with modular chiller plants, power plants, HVAC design, or similar projects.
• Experience selecting mechanical equipment such as pumps, chillers, cooling towers, and heat exchangers.
• Competence in piping system design, including pipe materials and classes, pipe stress analysis, and valve selection.
• Knowledge of applicable local and international codes, engineering procedures, quality management, module fabrication, and engineering deliverables.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
• Professional Engineer registration.
• Eight or more years leading mechanical waterside and air-side heat transfer system design.
• Technical leadership experience, AutoCAD knowledge, and fluid-flow analysis software experience.
