College Intern - Pen Health & Servicing Algorithm Development Engineer (Inkjet)

What you will do

• Develop and optimize Pen Health servicing algorithms for hirify.global inkjet printers.
• Analyze nozzle health data and evaluate servicing actions such as priming, wiping, spitting, and recovery routines.
• Assess servicing performance across customer usage models and environmental conditions.
• Develop scripts, tools, and models for processing and visualizing test results and large laboratory and life-cycle datasets.
• Investigate ways to reduce maintenance ink consumption while maintaining nozzle health and print quality.
• Validate algorithms through controlled experiments and printer testing while collaborating with mechanical, firmware, data science, and systems engineering teams.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Availability for a 5–6 month full-time internship starting in January 2027.
• Strong programming skills in Python or similar languages.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Knowledge of machine learning, data analytics, or statistical modeling, plus experience handling large datasets and developing engineering analysis tools.
