Accountant (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States, with hiring focused on the NY Hub or candidates willing to relocate to New York. Work primarily follows US daytime hours, with some synchronous meetings each week.

Salary: $110,000–$129,000 base annually.

What you will do

• Support the month-end close, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, supporting schedules, and draft financial statements.
• Own the general ledger and maintain accurate account classification, completeness, and documentation.
• Manage daily accounting operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, cash application, and expense coding.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation, recurring controls, close procedures, approval workflows, and segregation-of-duties evidence.
• Improve data integrity and reconciliation across QuickBooks Online, Ramp, Stripe, HRIS, and CRM systems.
• Coordinate contract-term extraction, revenue recognition support, sales tax compliance, collections escalation, and scalable process improvements.

Requirements

• Deep experience owning month-end close activities, including complex reconciliations, accruals, and judgment-based journal entries.
• Strong general ledger ownership and experience preparing financial statements and flux analyses.
• Experience designing and maintaining internal controls and audit-ready documentation.
• Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online and integrated finance systems.
• Understanding of revenue recognition, accounts receivable, collections, sales tax compliance, and contract review.
• Ability to work independently, identify operational gaps, and implement scalable accounting processes in a high-growth environment.
