TL;DR
Software Engineer (AI/Search): Building and maintaining web-based applications and talent discovery systems for Talent Matching, Talent Rediscovery, search, ranking, and relevance with an accent on OpenSearch or Elasticsearch and practical AI applications. Focus on developing full-stack product capabilities, tuning search relevance and performance, and ensuring reliable, scalable user-facing experiences.
Location: Remote in Argentina; approximately 12-month engagement. Reasonable availability is required for coordination with a distributed US and Canada-based team.
Salary: $33–$55 per hour.

What you will do
- Develop and maintain web-based applications for employer-facing talent discovery experiences.
- Build capabilities for Talent Matching, Talent Rediscovery, search, ranking, and relevance.
- Work across backend systems, APIs, data modeling, and modern frontend development.
- Design and improve search and matching systems using OpenSearch or Elasticsearch.
- Apply AI and machine learning techniques to matching, ranking, and search relevance.
- Build features, fix bugs, and maintain product stability and performance.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience writing production software.
- Production experience with Ruby, C#, Java, or Python; Ruby on Rails is preferred.
- Strong JavaScript or TypeScript fundamentals, including React.
- Full-stack experience with backend systems, APIs, data modeling, and frontend development.
- Production experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, including indexing, query design, relevance tuning, and performance.
- Experience with search, ranking, recommendation, or matching systems and practical AI/ML applications.
Nice to have
- Experience with Ruby on Rails and OpenSearch or Elasticsearch at scale.
- Experience with semantic search, embeddings, ranking, recommendation, or matching systems.
- Experience building evaluation, observability, testing, and feedback mechanisms for search or matching systems.
- Experience with analytical databases and distributed or remote engineering environments.
- Understanding of trade-offs between relevance, latency, reliability, infrastructure cost, and user experience.
