Marine Assurance Director (Maritime)

What you will do

• Manage MPC’s Blue Water Marine Assurance program and maintain governing documents in line with operations, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Lead an international team assessing vessels, terminals, Ship-to-Ship transshipment locations, and marine service providers.
• Oversee global tanker, barge, and tug inspection contractors.
• Provide marine risk expertise to the MPC/MPLX enterprise and coordinate technical operator assessments.
• Direct the review and documentation of corrective actions arising from operator assessments, vessel incidents, Port Captain inspections, pre-hire reviews, and SIRE inspections.
• Maintain technical operator relationships and represent Marathon in OCIMF committees and work groups.

Requirements

• Ten years of maritime petroleum industry experience.
• High school diploma required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Five years of leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with tanker, barge, tug, vessel inspection, and marine risk activities.
• Work location: San Antonio, Texas.
