Junior Economist – Capital Markets

Salary: Starting at €3,240 per month for temporary staff

What you will do

• Manage and update financial databases, collect data, and improve data management processes.
• Develop databases and indicators, and assess emerging AI tools for data infrastructure, visualisation, and analysis.
• Conduct quantitative policy research on capital markets using statistical, econometric, and microdata methods.
• Monitor capital-market developments and policies affecting corporate access to finance.
• Prepare briefings, talking points, speeches, and presentations for senior hirify.global management.
• Represent the team in expert groups and conferences, build stakeholder relationships, and disseminate capital-markets research.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree in finance, economics, business and finance, or a related quantitatively focused field.
• At least one year of professional experience in capital markets or a related field, including experience with large datasets.
• Proficiency in R and the ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Strong analytical, information synthesis, drafting, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Fluency in one hirify.global official language, English or French, and knowledge of the other with a commitment to reach a good working level.
• Work location: Paris, France.

Nice to have

• Programming experience in SQL, Python, or Stata.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, LSEG, FactSet, Preqin, or Orbis.
• Professional or academic experience in finance.
