Regular Software Engineer (.NET)

Location: Hybrid role based in Bulgaria or Serbia. Office options include Sofia, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, and Nis; remote, hybrid, or onsite work models are available.

What you will do

• Build and maintain software systems using C# and .NET Framework 4.x and modern .NET 8+.
• Develop and consume SOAP/WCF and RESTful APIs with ASP.NET Core Web API.
• Work with SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, indexes, transactions, locking, and ADO.NET data access.
• Implement background services, scheduled jobs, and workers while addressing concurrency and idempotency.
• Write unit and integration tests and contribute through Git and pull-request workflows.
• Use AI coding assistants responsibly by reviewing and verifying generated code.

Requirements

• At least three years of commercial experience with C# and .NET.
• Strong SQL Server skills and practical ADO.NET experience beyond Entity Framework.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, dependency injection, asynchronous patterns, and testable code.
• Experience with unit and integration testing using xUnit, NUnit, or MSTest.
• Fluent English, spoken and written, is required for daily work with a UK-based client team.
• Ability to work with large legacy codebases, handle production data and credentials carefully, and communicate progress and blockers clearly.

Nice to have

• PostgreSQL, schema migration, or T-SQL migration experience.
• Microsoft Azure services, including App Service, Azure Functions, Key Vault, managed identity, and Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps and build and test gates.
• Legacy-system testing, multi-tenant design, row-level security, or role-based access control.
• WPF/XAML, React, Angular, or experience in transport, logistics, or ERP domains.
