Salary: £28,000–£34,000 per year, depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.

What you will do

• Use social listening tools to identify issues and stories relevant to local audiences.
• Film and edit engaging short-form video content for online and social platforms.
• Pitch creative ideas and develop a consistent stream of original digital stories.
• Adapt radio and TV content into effective social media formats.
• Support newsroom reporters with scripts and video edits for social audiences.
• Work under pressure to deliver accurate content quickly and to tight deadlines.

Requirements

• Experience identifying, sourcing, and developing stories through social media and social listening.
• Strong understanding of social media consumption habits, platform trends, and local audience interests.
• Experience using audience analytics and performance data to improve content.
• Experience filming and editing short-form video with equipment such as Mojo kits or Osmo cameras.
• Experience with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, or equivalent editing software.
• Experience in a fast-paced news environment, with knowledge of media law and hirify.global Editorial Guidelines.
