TL;DR
Senior Scientist, Analytical Chemistry (Semiconductor Materials): Developing and optimizing analytical methods and characterizing raw materials, finished goods, R&D samples, and in-process materials at a semiconductor materials plant with an accent on chemical analysis, analytical instrumentation, and quality control. Focus on validating data, improving testing methods, investigating product and quality issues, and collaborating with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and customer teams.
Location: plant in Oseong, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea

What you will do
- Analyze raw materials, finished goods, R&D samples, manufactured materials, and in-process samples for quality control.
- Develop, validate, verify, and continuously improve analytical testing methods.
- Characterize materials using analytical instruments and maintain the instrumentation used for product testing.
- Apply appropriate instrument controls, validate data, and take corrective action when necessary.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, internal customers, and external customers as an analytical subject matter expert.
- Investigate product development and quality problems, determine root causes, and provide technical solutions.
Requirements
- Degree major in chemistry, physics, or engineering.
- Strong expertise in chemical analysis of slurry products and advanced deposition materials.
- General knowledge of analytical chemistry and techniques for characterizing complex mixtures.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and disposal procedures and the ability to maintain a clean, safe workspace.
- Ability to solve problems, learn and teach, and work effectively in cross-functional and global environments.
Nice to have
- Experience operating and maintaining CPS, LPC, HPLC, IC, GC, ICP-MS, or ICP-OES instruments.
- Experience with MS Office and LIMS.
- Experience with Pareto analysis, FMEA, SPC/SQC, histograms, trend analysis, process mapping, design of experiments, and cause-and-effect diagrams.
