Senior Associate Scientist (Biotherapeutics and Vaccines Analytical Testing)

Location: On premise in Chesterfield, Missouri, United States. Occasional evening work may be required. Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $68,600–$114,300, plus eligibility for a 7.5% performance bonus.

What you will do

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of biotherapeutic products and vaccines during manufacturing and shelf-life studies.
• Perform method verification, qualification, validation, and transfer for monoclonal antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, therapeutic proteins, and vaccines.
• Execute and troubleshoot analytical assays, including spectroscopic, chromatographic, and bioassay methods.
• Maintain experimental and cGMP investigation records in accordance with GLP/GMP and departmental SOPs.
• Present data, support complex investigations, maintain laboratory systems, and improve safe laboratory practices.
• Collaborate across analytical teams to meet project deadlines and work-group goals.

Requirements

• BA/BS with 3–5 years of biotherapeutics testing experience, or a master’s degree with 0–4 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in an R&D or GMP laboratory environment, including GMP operations and logistics.
• Experience with method validation or method transfer.
• Experience with UV-VIS or fluorescence spectroscopy, HPLC/UPLC, ELISA, or cell-based bioassays.
• Strong biochemistry knowledge, documentation skills, attention to detail, and ability to extract information from scientific literature.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary laboratory team.

Nice to have

• Experience with Empower, LabWare LIMS, ELN, SoftMax, or similar laboratory systems.
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, and broader GxP requirements.
• Experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot to support problem solving and productivity.
