Messaging Systems Engineer (Microsoft Exchange)

What you will do

• Design, implement, migrate, and support on-premises Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online, and hybrid messaging environments.
• Architect and maintain enterprise messaging infrastructure, including Active Directory/Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, mobile device management, and email security systems.
• Administer identity and access controls, conditional access, privileged identity management, monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
• Troubleshoot complex messaging and directory-service issues while improving system availability, performance, and security.
• Develop technical documentation, operational procedures, system proposals, and training for technical and non-technical users.
• Lead and participate in large-scale technology projects with cross-functional teams and provide after-hours or on-call support as needed.

Requirements

• At least six years of experience managing Microsoft Exchange Server, Exchange Online, hybrid environments, and Active Directory/Entra ID.
• Advanced knowledge of Exchange Online administration and migrations, Entra ID, role-based access control, conditional access, guest-user lifecycle management, PIM, and security monitoring.
• Experience configuring MFA, troubleshooting Active Directory and Exchange, and using PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with mobile device management platforms such as MobileIron, Microsoft Intune, and AirWatch.
• Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Office, and Visio, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in New York, NY and provide after-hours support or participate in an on-call rotation.

• Experience supporting large multinational enterprise environments.
• Microsoft messaging or enterprise administrator certifications.
• Knowledge of load balancers, VMware virtualization, compute, and storage infrastructure.
• Experience supporting legal or professional services firms with large user bases.
