Cybersecurity Intern

Location: Hybrid at the DXC office in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, with 1–2 days on site. Working hours are 8:30 am–5:30 pm.

What you will do

• Triage security alerts under supervision, validate findings, and escalate or close cases.
• Collect and analyze evidence from logs, endpoints, and network sources, maintaining clear case documentation.
• Support infrastructure security through system hardening, vulnerability tracking, remediation verification, and detection improvement.
• Apply identity and access management principles, support access reviews, and maintain privileged access documentation.
• Contribute to GRC activities, including control-to-evidence mapping, risk documentation, and audit traceability.
• Prepare weekly deliverables and complete a practical capstone project focused on detection or runbook improvements.

Requirements

• Eligibility: Malaysian citizens only and final-year students.
• Currently enrolled in a degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts including IP, DNS, and HTTP, as well as Windows or Linux operating systems.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce clear, structured documentation.
• Ability to follow established processes, apply feedback, and work accurately with evidence.
• Internship duration: 4–6 months, starting November 2026 or later.

Nice to have

• Exposure to security monitoring, vulnerability management, identity controls, or basic scripting.
• Interest in operational cybersecurity work and evidence-based analysis.
