System Engineer (Contract)

Location: Cyberjaya, Malaysia; hybrid arrangement with 2 days working from the office and 3 days working from home

What you will do

• Collaborate with project teams to resolve security-related technical challenges and support project milestones.
• Identify security issues during project execution and implement practical, risk-based solutions.
• Advise on security best practices and organizational policies.
• Balance security requirements with operational and project needs in collaboration with partners.
• Monitor emerging information security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies.
• Support security reporting, tenders, audits, and compliance activities with business units, partners, and vendors.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience across UNIX, Windows, and Linux environments and IP intranet/Internet security.
• Experience with information security risk analysis and periodic information system activity reviews.
• Knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection, incident response, policy writing, vulnerability testing, operating system hardening, regulatory compliance, and data classification.
• Experience architecting and implementing security solutions, policies, and technologies for transactional websites.
• Understanding of PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, NIST, and related security best practices.
• Ability to work across departments and oversee security components, reporting, and implementation processes.
