What you will do
- Supervise fleet operations and ensure vehicles are available, maintained, serviced, and suitable for daily delivery requirements.
- Coordinate on-time movement of products to and from the distribution centre and support last-mile delivery operations.
- Manage drivers, Driver Admins, attendance, overtime, performance appraisals, coaching, development, and disciplinary procedures.
- Track KPIs, extract operational data, prepare reports, conduct daily staff meetings, and communicate performance updates.
- Control fleet and labour costs, reconcile cash-on-delivery transactions, and maintain accurate administrative records.
- Maintain 5S housekeeping, health and safety standards, fire-fighting responsibilities, and COVID-19 protocols.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12; a tertiary qualification is preferred.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience managing people directly and indirectly, with the ability to motivate teams and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong organisation, prioritisation, attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literacy, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, plus knowledge of vehicle tracking systems.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, adapt to new systems, and complete responsibilities beyond normal working hours when required.
