Staff iOS Engineer (Media Foundation)

Location: Remote - United States

Base salary: $217,000–$303,000 USD per year, plus potential equity and commission depending on the position offered.

What you will do

• Architect a modular, easy-to-integrate iOS video player with first-class performance.
• Build robust media capabilities and video experiences for posts, comments, ads, and other products.
• Partner with backend media infrastructure and CDN teams to optimize global media delivery.
• Work with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver media products and features.
• Define engineering standards, improve developer workflows, and recommend best practices.
• Coach and mentor engineers while contributing to technical and product strategy, architecture, operations, and execution.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience developing user-facing native iOS applications at scale with Swift.
• In-depth knowledge of AVFoundation for playback, asset management, streaming, editing, and exporting.
• Strong understanding of Core Media timing and synchronization and Core Video buffer handling.
• Experience with HLS, MPEG-DASH, MP4, streaming frameworks, and CDN integration.
• Familiarity with RxSwift or Combine, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to deliver projects on schedule.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
