Backend Software Engineer (EBICS Payment Platform)

Location: Bucharest - Dacia One, Romania

What you will do

• Build and evolve backend services for EBICS payment workflows using Python, Bash, and Golang.
• Design APIs and implement payment flows covering authorization, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Integrate payment protocols and secure messaging systems including EBICS, SWIFT, SEPA ISO 20022, Axway, and CFT.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain services through Azure DevOps pipelines, Ansible playbooks, and internal private-cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with operations and security teams on reliability, encryption, digital signatures, certificate management, and compliance.
• Debug production issues, participate in code reviews and architecture discussions, and document technical decisions.

Requirements

• Strong Python and Bash skills.
• Working knowledge of Golang, Oracle databases, REST APIs, and Linux.
• Experience with Ansible and CI/CD workflows; basic understanding of Azure DevOps and/or Jenkins.
• Familiarity with Git, unit and functional testing, and release processes.
• Curiosity about banking and payments, willingness to learn payment terminology, and ability to understand business context before coding.
• Ability to work from the Bucharest office location.

Nice to have

• Professional experience with EBICS, SWIFT, or payment systems.
• Knowledge of Axway.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab Pipelines.
