Production Manager (Pharmacy)

Location: Onsite in Wallingford, United Kingdom. Working hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 8:00–16:00, with predominantly weekend work and weekday support.

What you will do

• Lead and supervise the pharmacy production team during weekend shifts.
• Plan, organize, and monitor dispensing workflows to ensure accurate and timely prescription completion.
• Track OTIF performance, respond to operational issues, and escalate support needs.
• Allocate staff, equipment, and materials while managing fluctuating workloads and inventory.
• Implement quality controls and support compliance with GPhC standards, company SOPs, health and safety requirements, and GDPR.
• Report production metrics and support staff training and development.

Requirements

• Proven supervisory or management experience in a lean operational environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and team motivation skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, organization, attention to detail, and resilience under pressure.
• Proficiency with data and general IT tools.
• Commitment to quality, accuracy, patient safety, and continuous professional development.
• Flexibility to work predominantly weekend hours and provide weekday support onsite in Wallingford.

Nice to have

• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation for pharmacy environments.
