Pharmacy Accuracy Checking Technician (Locum)

What you will do

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures, operational guidelines, and pharmacy practice standards.
• Check dispensed prescriptions and send orders through courier services.
• Manage pharmacy near misses, create action plans, and work with the Risk and Safety team to identify root causes and resolve incidents.
• Coordinate with Service, Pharmacy Management, and Supply Chain teams to dispatch orders on time and manage inventory.
• Contribute to service development, patient experience, problem-solving, and operational innovation.
• Support training and development of the pharmacy workforce.

Requirements

• GPhC registration is required.
• A recognised Accuracy Checking Technician qualification or active enrolment in an accredited ACT training programme is required.
• Professional expertise in pharmacy operations and national and local pharmacy services.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines while maintaining high standards of patient safety, compliance, and accuracy.
• Strong communication, collaboration, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work hours suited to business needs.
