Senior Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++)

What you will do

• Design, develop, test and maintain embedded software for real-time and embedded Linux platforms.
• Develop low-level drivers, hardware interfaces and application software for high-performance precision machines.
• Contribute to new product development, released-product support, defect fixes, feature enhancements and performance improvements.
• Work in an Agile environment through planning, estimation, reviews and continuous improvement.
• Create technical documentation for software design, testing, release and long-term product support.
• Collaborate with software, electronics, mechanical and product teams while taking ownership of assigned work.

Requirements

• Strong embedded software design and development experience with C or C++ on real-time or embedded Linux platforms.
• Experience with RTOS-based real-time control, such as FreeRTOS on Cortex-M microcontrollers.
• Experience with embedded Linux layers including kernel configuration, device drivers, bootloaders and user-space applications.
• Experience with WinCE, embedded build systems such as GCC, Make, CMake or Buildroot, and debugging tools such as Trace32 or GDB.
• Practical experience with development workflows and tools including Git, GitHub, Jira, Visual Studio or Eclipse.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering or computer science discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• FPGA development with VHDL, ModelSim/Questa or Xilinx tools and devices.
• C# or Python for reusable test applications, diagnostics or engineering tools.
• Industrial communications protocols such as Ethernet/IP and PROFINET.
• Experience with industrial sensors, actuators, stepper motors, motion control, circuit schematics and complex data sheets.
