Senior Cloud Security Engineer (AWS)

Location: Hybrid role based in New York City, with onsite work required Tuesdays through Thursdays at the HQ in Union Square, Manhattan

Salary: $163,000–$206,000 annual base compensation, plus equity awards and benefits.

What you will do

• Partner with Infrastructure to build security into new AWS cloud infrastructure and serve as the security point of contact for new builds.
• Lead repeatable initiatives that reduce cloud infrastructure risk.
• Build alerts, detections, dashboards, and actionable runbooks in CSPM and SIEM platforms.
• Own CSPM findings from triage through remediation, including Terraform changes that fix issues at the source.
• Improve AWS permissions and network design toward least privilege without expanding the attack surface.
• Participate in on-call rotations, investigate incidents to root cause, and implement preventive controls.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in cloud security or cloud infrastructure with a security focus, primarily in AWS.
• Hands-on experience with AWS networking and security services, including VPC, security groups, NACLs, WAF, GuardDuty, Config, Inspector, KMS, and IAM.
• Experience provisioning infrastructure with Terraform and working knowledge of Kubernetes or EKS.
• Experience with SIEM and CSPM platforms, including alert tuning and detection development.
• Scripting or programming experience with Python or TypeScript.
• On-call incident response experience and the ability to explain risk and remediation to engineering teams.

Nice to have

• AWS Organizations and multi-account environment experience.
• AWS Solutions Architect Associate or AWS Security Specialty certification.
• Public key infrastructure and applied cryptography experience.
