Senior Software Developer - Simulation - SimCore

Location: Remote within Canada; Markham, Ontario is listed as the job location. No regular reporting to a GM worksite is expected unless directed by the manager.

Salary: CAD 115,000–164,600 per year.

What you will do

• Develop high-fidelity, high-performance simulation scenarios for validating autonomous driving software.
• Build and extend the gym environment used to train reinforcement learning models.
• Improve the developer experience across simulation and autonomous driving software frameworks.
• Collaborate with customers and large engineering organizations to deliver quality results continuously.
• Develop expertise in the autonomous driving software stack, simulation frameworks, and reinforcement learning model training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in computer science, robotics, machine learning, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Demonstrated collaboration with customers and successful delivery in a hybrid or remote workplace.
• Must be based in Canada; GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.

Nice to have

• Experience building or extending autonomous vehicle or robotics simulations.
• Experience with Unity, Unreal Engine, or PhysX.
• Experience with reinforcement learning, gym environments, or large language models.
• Strong modern C++ and object-oriented design skills.
