Principal (Financial Services)

Location: Hong Kong; hybrid work with colleagues expected to be in the local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week.

What you will do

• Lead high-impact consulting engagements for financial services clients, addressing complex strategic challenges and driving measurable results.
• Manage end-to-end project delivery or key modules, including hypothesis development, data gathering, rigorous analysis, and actionable recommendations.
• Build trusted relationships with senior executives, influence decisions, and expand long-term client partnerships.
• Partner with Oliver Wyman leadership to deliver high-quality work and increase client impact.
• Mentor and develop junior consultants while fostering a collaborative, high-performance, learning-oriented culture.
• Shape and communicate market insights and thought leadership for the financial services industry.

Requirements

• At least 8–10 years of relevant financial services experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or similar organization, or in a strategy department or in-house consulting role.
• Experience leading and managing teams or workstreams and delivering under tight deadlines in fast-paced, demanding environments.
• Strong strategic problem-solving ability and demonstrable analytical skills.
• Financial services industry knowledge, with breadth across or depth within a relevant practice area.
• Ability to apply content knowledge to project execution, develop intellectual capital for business development, and lead these activities as a Principal.
• Outstanding communication skills and confidence presenting to senior executives.
• Undergraduate and/or advanced degree from a top academic program.
• Willingness to travel.
