TL;DR
Principal Software Engineer (C#/.NET, MedTech): Designing and maintaining shared software components and services for Elekta’s cloud and on-premises radiation medicine products with an accent on APIs, distributed systems, security, and scalability. Focus on guiding architecture, solving complex integration issues, strengthening CI/CD and automated testing, and mentoring engineers in a regulated healthcare environment.
Location: Crawley, United Kingdom; required to work from the Crawley HQ 4 days per week with 1 day working from home

What you will do
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of shared software components and services using C# and .NET for cloud and on-premises deployments.
- Define APIs, integration contracts, and component boundaries while maintaining interoperability and backward compatibility.
- Guide architectural decisions focused on performance, scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability.
- Drive code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD practices, and engineering standards.
- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex product, integration, and customer issues.
- Collaborate with architects, product teams, and engineering leaders while mentoring engineers and supporting safety and cybersecurity initiatives.
Requirements
- Extensive software engineering experience with C#, .NET or ASP.NET Core, and distributed systems.
- Experience designing reusable services, versioned APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, cloud-native technologies, and modern deployment practices.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
- Experience leading technical initiatives, influencing architecture decisions, and mentoring engineers.
- Application and résumé submitted in English.
Nice to have
- Experience in healthcare, medical technology, or other regulated environments.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL, GitOps, infrastructure automation, and scripting.
- Experience with secure software development, observability, and cybersecurity practices.
