Principal Engineer (Data Engineering)

What you will do

• Architect and build scalable data ingestion pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, databases, and data models.
• Design secure data integration frameworks for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Create and manage hybrid cloud data environments and support big data platforms.
• Contribute to data product strategy, roadmaps, execution, and performance reporting.
• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, data scientists, and senior stakeholders to produce high-quality, model-ready datasets.
• Identify and mitigate business, operational, governance, security, and compliance risks.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in data engineering, software development, or analytics, including launching and scaling technical products or platforms.
• Strong programming skills in at least two of Python, SQL, and Java.
• Experience with distributed systems such as Spark, Hadoop, or EMR, plus RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of software engineering practices, including code reviews, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, packaging, and release management.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and familiarity with traditional ETL tools and data warehousing.
• Strong understanding of data security, compliance, governance, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership.
