Backend Intern (C++)

Location: Israel; primarily onsite at an HPE office, with approximately 3 days per week available in a hybrid arrangement

What you will do

• Develop backend features in modern C++ for a large-scale, production-grade system.
• Investigate and resolve bugs involving distributed systems, concurrency, performance, and reliability.
• Work with Linux, virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud technologies.
• Collaborate with experienced developers while gaining practical experience with Agile practices.

Requirements

• Be an undergraduate student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering with a GPA of 85 or higher and at least two years of study remaining.
• Be available to work approximately 3 days per week, or about 60%.
• Have a good understanding of object-oriented programming through C++.
• Understand fundamental data structures, algorithms, and operating-system concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal English is required.
• Be able to learn independently, build system-level understanding, and work both collaboratively and independently.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with C++.
• Understanding of multithreading, synchronization, and concurrency.
• Familiarity with Linux development environments.
• Knowledge of networking, storage, or distributed systems.
