Senior AI Tech Architect (AI)

Location: Helsinki, Finland; work includes on-site client and project activities and regular office Fridays.

What you will do

• Lead architecture and technical solutioning modules across applications, data, cloud, integration, and AI.
• Design and guide modern AI and GenAI solutions, including LLM- and agent-based applications, retrieval architectures, model and tool integration, and supporting data platforms.
• Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs and facilitate architecture decisions across scalability, resilience, security, maintainability, cost, and vendor choices.
• Lead prototypes, proofs of concept, and technical assessments to test feasibility and reduce implementation risk.
• Define production engineering practices and platform capabilities, including APIs, CI/CD, DevOps, MLOps/LLMOps, observability, testing, and lifecycle management.
• Coordinate smaller technical teams, coach engineers and junior architects, and embed security and responsible AI into solution design.

Requirements

• Approximately four years of relevant experience in software development, data or AI engineering, cloud or platform engineering, solution architecture, or IT consulting.
• Degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, informatics, engineering, or a related technology-intensive field, or relevant industry experience.
• Hands-on software development or engineering experience, including code, API, data, technical design, and modern development environment reviews.
• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, containerization, cloud-native development, data architectures, distributed systems, CI/CD, and DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with AI, machine learning, or GenAI solutions and designing LLM-based applications.
• Excellent English communication skills, willingness to travel, and ability to work in interdisciplinary and international contexts.

Nice to have

• Experience with RAG, AI agents, model integration, MLOps/LLMOps, or AI evaluation.
• Experience guiding engineers or junior architects and maintaining the quality of technical deliverables.
• Experience with emerging technologies across AI, cloud, data, software, and digital platforms.
