Machinist II (Ultra High Purity Systems)

Location: San Luis Obispo, California, United States; on-site manufacturing role

Salary: $28–$31 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Produce components for Ultra High Purity Systems using engine lathes and manual milling machines.
• Work from drawings, instructions, and tube diameter and length lists using SAP.
• Follow engineering specifications and perform accurate, consistent, and timely manufacturing operations.
• Demonstrate proper inspection, measuring, tooling, material-handling, and quality techniques.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while supporting on-time shipments and 6S responsibilities.
• Work both independently and collaboratively, including overtime and weekend support when needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0–2 years of experience cutting, deburring, and cleaning tubing and fittings.
• Basic knowledge of engine lathes, vertical milling machines, sanders, shears, drill presses, press brakes, band saws, and tube-facing tools.
• Ability to learn an ERP system and navigate drawings and work instructions.
• Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds daily and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Attention to detail, dependability, flexibility, and commitment to workplace safety and product quality.
