Pre-Sales Systems Engineer - Financial Services

Location: Chicago, IL, USA; candidates must reside in the metro Chicago area. The role includes customer-site support, on-site testing, and approximately 10% travel.

Salary: $130,000–$175,000 base pay per year, plus potential bonuses, equity, and sales commissions.

What you will do

• Act as a trusted technical advisor for financial services customers and partners, gathering requirements and identifying opportunities.
• Own pre-sales and post-sales technical relationships across the assigned territory and customer base.
• Support product enablement, technical training, demonstrations, and technical presentations for customers and global organizations.
• Participate in proof-of-concept execution, laboratory research, and on-site customer testing.
• Conduct technical Quarterly Business Reviews and create marketing materials, solution guides, white papers, and battle cards.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Software Development, technical support, and partners to guide solutions and product direction.

Requirements

• Residence in the metro Chicago area is required.
• At least 5 years of networking design and implementation experience for data center, campus, Wi-Fi, and security solutions serving financial services customers.
• Deep expertise in routing, switching, network architecture, and network design.
• Strong presentation, communication, selling, customer relationship, and problem-management skills.
• Experience creating technical content and understanding competitive networking products, solutions, and services.
• Ability to support customer-site requirements and travel approximately 10%.

Nice to have

• Experience with network overlays and virtualization.
• Experience building network automation with Python and Ansible.
• Arista Cloud Engineer certification at ACE level 3–5 or another network industry certification.
