Senior Security Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote from anywhere in Canada; optional access to office spaces in Montreal and Toronto.

Base salary: CAD 170,000–230,000 per year, plus equity, performance-based increases, benefits, and paid time off.

What you will do

• Design and drive security solutions across product, application, infrastructure, enterprise, and observability domains.
• Conduct threat modeling for existing systems and new product initiatives.
• Partner with engineering teams to embed security into development and delivery workflows.
• Build, tune, and automate alerts, detections, observability, and response workflows using AI tools, agents, and automation.
• Participate in and help lead incident response as part of the on-call rotation.
• Support governance, compliance, and regulatory efforts while mentoring engineers and shaping security priorities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, software engineering, or a related technical discipline, including meaningful security experience.
• Strong technical depth in one or more security domains and the ability to work across related domains.
• Advanced, hands-on experience using AI tools, agents, and automation for security engineering.
• Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS.
• Hands-on incident response and on-call experience.
• Fluency in English is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, crypto, or another regulated environment.
• Product security, security testing, offensive security, vulnerability research, detection engineering, or security observability experience.
• Knowledge of Bitcoin and familiarity with Git/GitHub.
