Senior Detection and Response Engineer

Location: Hybrid in-office role in San Mateo, California, United States; office attendance is required Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence Monday and Friday.

Salary: $196,750–$243,290 USD base pay per year.

What you will do

• Engineer high-fidelity detection capabilities end to end, from threat modeling and logging to actionable alert deployment.
• Build security data pipelines and contribute to internal software and data platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and guide partners in developing effective detection and response solutions.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to maintain reliable detection and response services.
• Act as a security partner across the organization and help mitigate incidents to their root causes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in security data engineering.
• Experience building efficient, reliable, and scalable services with Golang or Python.
• Experience with Terraform, SQL, and security data pipelines.
• Strong security engineering skills, including risk prioritization, compensating controls, and incident mitigation.
• Ability to collaborate in shared codebases and submit GitHub pull requests.
