Principal Software Engineer - SDET (AI)

What you will do

• Lead software development and solution testing for cloud-native datacenter networking products and protocols.
• Design, implement, troubleshoot, and debug large-scale datacenter networking solutions.
• Develop automation code and test frameworks for cloud and on-premises software using Python, Golang, Java, C, or C++.
• Build complex virtual networking topologies using KVM, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and VMware.
• Integrate automated test cases into CI/CD pipelines and strengthen quality gates for weekly production releases.
• Lead architecture discussions, make technical decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience designing, building, and troubleshooting large-scale datacenter networks.
• Expertise in datacenter networking protocols, distributed systems, cloud-native development, microservices, and infrastructure as code.
• Strong TCP/IP knowledge and experience with EVPN/VXLAN and BGP.
• Experience with Cassandra, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, or Signoz.
• Ability to work onsite from an HPE office, lead quality initiatives, and mentor engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with RDMA, RoCEv2, InfiniBand, or Ultra Ethernet Consortium initiatives.
• Familiarity with AI/ML and agentic frameworks such as LangChain and FastAPI.
• Technical publications, citations, professional forum participation, or IEEE involvement.
