Senior Software Engineer - Content Understanding (AI)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; office-based roles require onsite attendance Tuesday through Thursday

Base salary: $243,290–$295,250 per year

What you will do

• Develop full-stack solutions for understanding images, 3D models, audio, text, video, and complete experiences.
• Build scalable pipelines for training, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models for content annotation and discovery.
• Develop backend systems supporting real-time search, discovery, and generative AI features.
• Apply AI research and computer vision techniques to production-ready systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams on large technical projects.

Requirements

• 7 years of strong programming experience in at least two of Python, C#, C++, and Java.
• Experience scaling backend systems in cloud environments and deploying machine learning models in production.
• Exposure to frontend technologies such as React or Angular.
• Experience with image or 3D object understanding, preferably in gaming or content creation.
• Foundation in computer vision, AI, or related fields.
• For US-based roles, candidates must have appropriate United States work authorization; future H-1B sponsorship may not be supported.

Nice to have

• Experience with large-scale search systems, generative AI, or semantic content understanding.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and end-to-end machine learning workflows.
• Knowledge of 3D geometry or digital asset workflows.
