Geologist - On Call (Remote US)

Location: Florida, with remote or hybrid work within the state

Salary: $74,090–$125,954 per year based on full-time employment

What you will do

• Perform Oil, Gas, and Mineral assessments for agricultural, rural, and conservation easement acquisitions.
• Analyze Florida Department of Environmental Protection permitting and mines databases, geological maps, lithologic boring reports, and related geological data.
• Prepare technical reports summarizing assessments, including GIS map exhibits and well-borehole information.
• Support additional geology-related work for the Environment & Planning Division.
• Collaborate with project managers, technical specialists, and regulatory stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a closely related field.
• At least five years of verified geological work experience involving environmental, natural resource, or similar assessments.
• Current, active Florida Professional Geologist license required.
• At least one year of experience analyzing geologic, soil, or groundwater data and preparing technical reports or environmental assessments.
• At least one year of experience using standard geological or environmental data analysis methods and tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with Florida environmental regulations.
• Experience on multidisciplinary environmental or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency with GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and deadline-management skills.
