Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid schedule with 2–3 days onsite per week

Salary: $117,200–$133,500 per year

What you will do

  • Manage complex research administration portfolios for multiple laboratories and support faculty in the Division of Population Sciences.
  • Lead pre-award grant preparation, including eligibility reviews, proposal coordination, institutional review, sponsor submissions, and just-in-time responses.
  • Manage post-award sponsored and institutional funds, including budgets, financial and narrative reports, projections, invoices, receivables, and industry agreement milestones.
  • Oversee procurement, core and center billing, chargebacks, salary allocations, and related financial processes.
  • Advise researchers on compliance, NIH policies, time and effort certification, conflicts of interest, MTAs, DUAs, consulting agreements, and foreign influence requirements.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop Research Administration staff, allocate workloads and resources, conduct performance reviews, and lead cross-departmental projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience; 1 year of people management experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of grant administration, budgeting, financial projections, and complex award management.
  • Strong understanding of NIH, federal, state, foundation, and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Expert communication, critical thinking, organization, client service, collaboration, people management, and project management skills.
  • Expertise with new applications and software programs; Excel or Google Sheets experience preferred.
