Sr Sample Management Specialist

Location: Frederick, MD, USA; hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week

Salary: $68,700–$90,000 USD per year, plus discretionary annual bonus

What you will do

• Serve as the primary operational liaison for assigned client sample management projects.
• Develop project-specific sample logistics plans and monitor site activation, kit supply, collection, accessioning, storage, retrieval, and shipment activities.
• Coordinate domestic and international sample transfers with couriers, external laboratories, and logistics teams.
• Maintain accurate sample inventories, coordinate reconciliations, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Generate and present operational metrics using Power BI, Excel, ERP systems, and dashboard reporting tools.
• Support SOP, GxP, and client compliance, audits, inspections, deviations, corrective actions, and process improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in biospecimen operations, clinical research, or laboratory management.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, biospecimen handling standards, data integrity, and data governance.
• Experience with biospecimen inventory systems, reporting, Microsoft 365/MS Office, and relevant computer applications.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, time management, and attention-to-detail skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Fluent English is required for communicating with technical and non-technical customers and colleagues.

• Experience with LIMS, biorepository systems, and data integration platforms.
