ServiceNow Test Engineer (Secret/Top Secret)

Location: Remote within the United States; must support US Eastern time zone working hours. Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret security clearance. Foreign work locations and foreign IP access are prohibited, and personal VPN connections are not permitted. Preference is given to candidates in the Washington, DC metro area.

Salary: $67,355–$114,503 per year

What you will do

• Execute functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing for ServiceNow solutions.
• Design, maintain, and run automated test suites with the ServiceNow Automated Test Framework.
• Perform manual testing of workflows, forms, role behavior, reports, configurations, integrations, and data-related updates.
• Validate enhancements, bug fixes, and release changes across development, test, and production environments.
• Track defects, support triage, verify fixes, and coordinate with analysts, developers, product owners, and stakeholders.
• Document test plans and results, support UAT coordination, collect test evidence, and verify alignment with security and compliance expectations.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software testing, QA, or test engineering.
• 3+ years of experience testing ServiceNow applications or comparable enterprise workflow platforms.
• 3+ years of experience working in Agile delivery environments with user stories and sprint ceremonies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with ServiceNow Automated Test Framework or comparable automated testing tools.
• Experience with ServiceNow Agile Development or Jira for defect tracking and Confluence for documentation.
• Experience testing ServiceNow enhancements, releases, or workflow changes in federal environments.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, security validation, compliance-focused testing, release management, smoke testing, and test evidence collection.
• Experience validating workflow dependencies, data updates, and role-based access behavior.
